I've mostly been in Israel this week, and since my charger got lost with the luggage, didn't dare watch anything on my iPhone. So I've not been watching much. However…
- Dexter – Ooh, excellent twists and big developments. The best season since the first one? I think so.
- Stargate Universe – Didn't carry straight on from last week's, which was nice. Really turning out quite nice, although the grimness is making BSG look like Community at the moment.
- Supernatural – Sad and actually quite scary.
- Misfits – I'm up to episode two now and that was surprisingly poignant. Good work E4.
- Gavin & Stacey – would have liked to have done a full review, but time presses. All I'll say is it's lush, and it's good to see our Joanna getting some good lines

LOVED Gavin and Stacey. Thought it was just fab. And Pam Ferris is a wonderful addition.
Also another great episode of Spooks this week. Richard Armitage and Hermione Norris are both so watchable you can forgive the plot writers anything. But I did like the focus on Richard this week obviously...
Shamefacedly have to admit to I'm A Celeb. I can't help it. It's Ant & Dec's glee when people do bushtucker trials.
Accidentally missed the last Garrow's Law and I haven't had time to catch up on Iplayer. Which is a shame as I loved it.
Caught the Thick of It which I keep missing and loved it.
Merlin continues to entertain, and was very touching this week. Colin Morgan definitely star in the making. He's great.

SGU - Class, really enjoying it especially as its more the BSG then Trek model.

Paradox - I was surprised that I enjoyed this but I'll be watching next week
Supernatural - Awesome as ever
Fringe - I just love Anna Torv! Also the series is great, though I hear that the makers have plans for 6 series! I'd be very surprised if they can keep up the quality.

Merlin was... well, perhaps the weakest of the series for me. A severe disappointment after the brilliance of the week before.
Dexter failed to entertain me too as Dexter took a rather supporting role and there were these gaping flaws in the plot I couldn't ignore.
I watched the first episode (or first two episodes?) of Stargate Universe and very much enjoyed it though I wasn't expecting much. It feels like a role play game to me. I'll continue to watch it.
FlashForward was pretty good again with a fantastic love story at the centre. It's always best when it goes away from the FBI investigation or the Olivia/Lloyd debacle.
Misfits was great again. Not as perfect as the second episode but I very much like this show- not as teen-centric as I feared after all.
I've also watched a bit of Big Bang Theory and I think it great how they write Penny and Sheldon together and also how Wolowitz is used. Hilarious stuff. Best thing was having Sheldon refer to absolutely cutting edge research. This show is sharp.
Finally: QI is back. Yay. I only wish they were broadcasting an extended version.

The holiday over here really put a crimp in my viewing and the DVR is reminding me of that - three weeks ago it was 20% full; it's now 70%.
The highlights of what I did see: another installment from the Cinematic Titanic gang (formerly MST3K) called "Blood of the Vampires". It was a Filipino movie about Mexicans and several actors were in blackface. Properly ravaged by the commenters.
"Lie To Me" already aired their Christmas episode, one week after the Thanksgiving one. Didn't recognize Jason Gedrick as the guest star at all; must be bulking up.... But a decent episode set in Afghanistan.
"Cougar Town" has really come along with the jelling of the cast into an ensemble, but Courtney Cox still needs to dial it back a lot! Still, there was a very sweet moment between her and Dan Byrd who plays her son.
The best of the network offerings had to be the "Fizbo" episode of 'Modern Family'. It was like watching a Rube Goldberg machine - like that old board game "Mousetrap" - being built, to then finally see it sprung into action. Hilarious stuff, especially when Fizbo the Clown channelled his inner Gene Hunt at the gas station: "I'm the ass-kicking clown who's going to smash your head into that bumper until the airbags deploy!"
From Netflix I had a 1970 TV special hosted by John Wayne about the history of the United States. It was an NBC comedy variety production with lots of famous celebs (mostly from the NBC stable) as historical figures - Shatner as John Adams, Crosby as Mark Twain, Lorne Greene, Dan Blocker, Rowan & Martin, Red Skelton, Michael Landon, Dennis Weaver, Celeste Holm, Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, George Burns, Ricky & David Nelson (to illustrate the "brother vs. brother" aspect of the Civil War), Hugh O'Brian, Ross Martin, Johnny Cash, Glenn Campbell, Roscoe Lee Browne, and Tommy Smothers - who I think NBC wanted to stick it to CBS for letting them go. Oh, and Bob Hope as himself - entertaining the troops at Valley Forge. And Ed McMahon as a Wild West bartender - not surprising as Budweiser was the sole sponsor....
Thursday morning I rested up for a day of feasting by flipping back and forth between the CBS and NBC coverage of the Macy's parade. NBC may have the rep, but CBS had the better coverage.
Hopefully I can get the queue whittled down soon, but the general Christmas hiatus will soon set in and I'll have the time to watch this stuff......

@Jane: The Thick of It is beginning to feel a bit sad. You feel sorry for everyone too much, now. And Malcolm can't really take his gloves off with Nicola too much either.
@George: Still haven't watched Paradox. It's on my iPhone though.
@Bob: Like Grace Dent, I'm actually liking Misfits about as much if not more than Being Human. I'm really not sure why though.
@Toby: Yes, I liked (having watched them) both Cougar Town and Modern Family this week. The latter was the best ep for a while.
