Hopefully Melvin Burgess' involvement in the Well will give it teeth. And depending on how controversial his storylines are, we maybe hearing a lot about it (-:
Sorry. Cannot possibly imagine David Tennant as Bilbo Baggins. Daniel Radcliffe, yes. James Mc Evoy, definitely. But David? No just can't see it...

'The Lord Of The Rings' wasn't exactly cast for star power; Christopher Lee was probably the biggest name involved. (Of course many of those involved have gone on to become name actors.) Much as I like Tennant, I don't want to be looking at Bilbo Baggins and thinking the Doctor; I want to see Bilbo Baggins.

My Swiss cheese memory is failing me but I know I had an actor in mind who could pass for a younger version of Ian Holm in the role. Not that they'd listen to my idea if I could remember.

It's sad that they feel they have to cast younger for the role as well. I realize it'll be a marketing decision, but I would think the movies would be able to sell themselves without such pandering to the youth market...

Got to be Mcavoy for Bilbo Baggins. He's a tiny lad and already looks like a hobbit even before you've started on the CGI. DT is surely a joke casting rumour, as Britain's most famous tall, angular actor.
