re: the 'Merlin' ratings - it's a Sunday night, the program was already produced so there's no cost to NBC on that score, so I hope the network shows patience with it and let it play out. I deliberately kept from seeking out more than the first episode via "other means" (and with that first it was just YouTube, an ungainly way to watch it), because I wanted to show my support for it. Not that I'm a Nielsen family, sadly.

The US Open over-ran by 13 minutes, so that could be why many didn't find it. By that point, an audience should be pretty invested in whatever show they're watching.

Allowable comments
You can leave just about any kind of comment you like. You can argue, suggest I am (or anyone else is) wrong, leaving general messages of love – anything. However, you absolutely can't leave messages that attack other commenters: your comment will either be edited or deleted and you'll be barred from leaving any further comments. We want to keep it civil here. Oh, and absolutely no German conspiracy theorists please – I think we've all had enough of them round here.

Spoilers
If you're going to put something you think is a spoiler into one of your comments, put <spoiler> in front of it and </spoiler> after it; if your spoiler is long, remember to put the tags before and after every paragraph. Your spoiler will then only appear if anyone highlights it with their mouse. Remember: your comments also show up in the sidebar at the side of every page!
