Sitting Tennant: The anthem

Posted on March 21, 2009 | 19 comments |

A request was made. Your wish is my command, etc, so here is the whole of the Sitting Tennant gallery to the sound of James' 'Sit Down'. Don't spend too much time staring at it.

Credit, of course, to Persephone who came up with the idea.

[oh! Rob!] I'm touched. I really am. I'm sitting here wiping away the tears. (Well, not really, but I'm really really chuffed...)

First thought: my, he is a devilishly handsome fellow.

Second thought: bloody hell there are a lot of pictures of David Tennant sitting down. How long have we been doing this?

Third thought: I want to watch 'Casanova' again. And 'Recovery'.

Fourth thought: I really hate this song. (Sorry Persephone.)

Fab Rob! Sorry haven't time to watch properly now. Have to clean draining rods from overflowing drains last week. You really don't want to know. But a quick blast of Sit Down and David Tennant has girded me for the task...

@Persephone: Glad you like it. I aim to please.

@Marie: There have been 88 pictures submitted to the Sitting Tennant gallery, and the very first Sitting Tennant was on 29th April 2008 (you were on holiday at the time, I notice), although it wasn't until the 1st May I opened it up to photo submitters and it wasn't until Toby's comment on the 13th May that the idea of a caption competition came about.

Herein lies the answer to why Armitage's Army ain't got the staying power. They don't have Lisa on their side...

Brilliant Rob. I wonder if David Tennant would think if ever googles himself and comes across this???

In comparison to the feisty, self-possessed, independent modern women who seem to enjoy David Tennant supported by a weight-bearing surface, Armitage's army strikes me as characters in 19th century melodramas. "Oh, my, it is a new picture of the gentleman Richard Armitage, as used by his agent of affairs. I am fair taken with his visage. It is all I can do not to excuse myself from company to take a stroll in the cold night air to settle myself. Wait. Oh no. Too late. The vapours!" [thunk]

Plus they don't have Lisa on their side.

Take your time, if it'll help, Ms Rulls'nberg ;-)

[Rob, have I mentioned that I love you, lately?] I think that covers it! ;)

I cannot describe how much I laughed aloud at this!!! My computer screen really needs an anti-spluttering device to protect it from unbidden guffawing...

You weren't eating at the time, were you? You know you're not supposed to do that round here...

You can almost certainly get an anti-spluttering device off eBay.

Tennant women are much more direct. Their responses, upon seeing pictures of the sexy Scot, are more like, "OMFG he's so hot!", quickly followed by naughty comments about wanting to snog and/or shag him senseless.

Are you impuning that I (for example) would do such an outrageous immoral thing as writing down that I would....

... yeah... I do, I would, and I'll do it again*

*can you tell I've been rewatching Casanova recently and my verbal inflections have been affected?

Hey, you'll not hear any complaints from this corner about rewatching Casanova. ;) Russell T Davies is a DT fanboy, no doubt.

*makes mental note to rewatch Casanova soon*
