    I am just trying to imagine (and failing dismally it has to be said) how they can link The Hobbit to LoTR AND include Frodo & co without coming up with something really crap. Even if it does involve Peter Jackson. Gandalf and Gollum will be enough for me, thank you very much, if only to avoid more soppy scenes between Frodo and Sam, which always have my two oldest hooting with laughter (as well they might). I think there are enough really good fun characters in The Hobbit to make it stand alone, as ahem, the book has done for a few years already. Unless they come up with an absolutely fabulous script, I think they should just Not Go There. Ever.
