Still watching Fringe? Blimey, you've got stamina. Even I petered out around about episode six or seven. I want to like it, I really do, it's just really boring.
There are some glimmers of light in it, though. One's John Noble as the truly mad scientist Dr Bishop. If the show was purely about him, I'd watch it.
The other glimmer of hope is The Observer. Much like Lazar in Witchblade, he pops up in more or less every episode, but you have to be very observant to spot him – although the fourth episode in which he's the focus was pretty much the only good episode since the pilot (as far as I'm aware).
To save you time – and to avoid watching Fringe – you can see all his appearances in this video someone's mashed up for your delight

Hate to say it, but Fringe has actually improved quite a bit after ep7. It still has problems, but things are tying up quite nicely and someone's pressed the FUN button. Olivia even came across as human in ep10. I was debating giving up around ep6, but I'm glad I didn't. I've enjoyed the last 3 eps. Not gonna get too carried away, 'cos it could be a fluke run of good episodes. But, whenever the show utilizes its own short history and newbie mythology, it's far more entertaining than the X-Filesy standaone eps have been.

I agree with Dan. I only kept watching the show because my friends watch it, but it has really improved recently.
However, we all agree that Anna Torv is terrible. We've been hoping that there's going to be some twist this season that ends with Dunham's death.

I'm with these two - Fringe isn't without its problems, but every time I start to dwell on them, it switches things up and makes me glad I kept watching. It did it with the fourth episode, and it's done it again with the seventh, since which it's picked up and seems to actually be going somewhere.
It's still one of those shows that I'm concerned might leave me feeling extremely let down in the long run (like the X-Files), but there's more than enough potential to keep me interested for now.
And yes, John Noble is the best thing about it. =)

Well, if it stays consistent, I'll have to play catch up then. Although by extension, that means Dan will be forced to play catch-up with The Mentalist since it's not that bad at the moment and is quite enjoyable.

I bailed on the show after the third episode when it dawned on me that a) I didn't give a hoot about The Pattern and b) that Anna Torv was crap. Maybe I'll give it another chance when Sky repeats the entire run, but not right now. (Besides, I still haven't forgiven Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci for Transformers and The Island.)
