I think DT will certainly back, especially as he's been conveniently cloned. I have visions of the new Doctor going through the rift to find the Handyman (as I, but nobody else, calls the hand doc) only to discover that he spends his entire time sitting on the sofa in a wifebeater vest, watching TV, drinking beer and eating crisps.

I have just watched the video (I know, admirable self control.) Look at the way his lip keeps jumping when they ask him about coming back. He is totally coming back.

Wishful thinking is probably a very unhealthy exercise Marie...

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I've been signed up for David Tennant Google News Alerts for over a year. The chief thing I've learned from it is the very high possibility of tommyrot in most so-called news reporting, particularly the stuff online. One site grabs a crumb of speculation, a dozen other sites report it as fact. This interview is a beautiful example. Here, DT (looking particularly dishy here, not that that's relevant and he's sitting down) answers each question with diplomatic open-endedness. And what do we get? Minutes later? "David says Billy will be the Doctor!" (No, he didn't.) "Steven Moffat almost convinced DT to stay!" (Um, did he?) "David helps Billy breast-feed her baby!" (Haven't seen that yet, but it's only a matter of time...)
What Marie says about the jumping lips is intriguing, though. I think I'll run the interview again and concentrate on that. Particularly the lower lip... (*Slaps own face*) Must snap out of this!

I'm presuming you haven't read my question mark guide...

I have and I wasn't taking pot-shots at your blog. I should have made that clear. I was thinking of the mostly ludicrous and uninformative headlines that turn up on my David Tennant Google Alert email. Every time the man gives an interview, I get a cyberspace kind of "Chinese Whispers". It just makes me wonder how much "news" out there is actually researched.

Wasn't saying that you were. Was saying there was an easy, visual guide to separating the wheat from the chaff...

Chuckle - its nice to know I'm in good company!
Personally, I gave up on the thousands of Google news items coming up on DT daily. It and a news feed was just too much to cope with - especially when there was so much guff. However, on the speculation front I do think DT is too much of a geek boy to turn down the chance of coming back for a multi-doctor special or two way down the line but I also think he's sensible enough to know that walking away means walking away (and not turning up as Handyman any time soon).
Rob, you do a great job of balancing what is reported as news/headlines without getting too sucked in to giving us all the most outlandish chinese whispers. Point is though that these stories are out there - however bonkers they may be - so they probably need some reference points. the question mark guide does help though.
