Some people might not have seen it, but this is the introduction of Paterson Joseph's character in Neverwhere, the Marquis de Carabas, who was conceived as a Doctor-ish character. You can see how he could work. Also, this was written by Neil 'possibly writing for series 5' Gaiman.

Based on that slip-up by the actor from 'Survivors', I'm thinking it's locked in for Paterson Joseph. And based on that clip supplied by Stu, I'm all for it now. Just listening to his voice only as the Marquis, I get this Davison vibe from his delivery.

Since Tennant's already spilled the beans that he's going, the BBC should probably think about revealing his replacement around the time of the Christmas special. Pretty soon the word's going to get out in a different way, once one of the front-runners in the rumor mill starts turning down project after project because of another commitment.....

I know it's pretty nigh impossible to keep it secret, but a bit of me would love them to surprise us.

I loved Neverwhere but hadn't connected the Marquis of Carabas with Olivia Coleman's bit on the side in Green Wing. Yup, maybe he could do it...
