Bionic speculation

Isaiah Washington

Skip this if you haven't seen at least the first two episodes of Bionic Woman already. Potential spoilers after the break.

So Isaiah Washington's been offered a spin-off series from Bionic Woman on the strength of a five-episode guest arc, one that hasn't even aired yet. I don't know about you, but I didn't see many signs of why he or his character should be deserving of such a thing. Here's my theory: Isaiah's character is the first bionic man and the spin-off series would be a new version of The Six Million Dollar Man, neatly reversing the order of the 70s' series. What do you think?

Whether it's a good idea or not may not even matter me thinks. Due to at least 3 reasons:
    1. Ratings took a sharp drop in the second week.

    2. The second episode was just awful. Bad dialogue, poor development and average or below average acting(Michelle Ryan does try bless her but some of her lines are dreadful!). Based on that I would guess ratings will go down even further next week.

    3. Washington's character was dull. Full Stop. devoid of charisma or anything else that might be interesting enough to make a spin off.

Admittedly it might have been an interesting idea had Bionic Woman been genre busting like say Battlestar Galactica. But it's not. It's just very below-average.

    Sounds plausible to me...

    1) From quite a high, though. If they drop the same amount next week, there might be problems
    2) It was better than the pilot! Still quite bad, but better.
    3) I imagine that's what they were trying for - so when he goes bionic, it'll be a surprise.

Here's another interesting thought now they've done a partial reboot of Sarah - supposing they're planning to kill off Michelle Ryan in a shock move, now BSG has been given its final season heads-up.

    Interesting, huh?

I like that idea of getting rid of Michelle Ryan and instead focusing on Katee Sackhoff's bionic babe. To have the main character played with shades of dark would give the show an edge to set it apart from the usual hero mode.

I think MR could develop given the chance. I like Kate Sackhoff but I don't want to know more about her.

I expect the will do what they facny but the younger BW is mucn more interesting IMHO

Though this could be because I want to tell about the time she tried to buy books in my wifes shop and her switch card was declined.

    True
