Ricky Gervais? Best comedy actor? Not when there's Alec Baldwin

Posted on September 20, 2007 | 4 comments |

Here's NBC explaining why Alec Baldwin should have won the best comedy actor Emmy for his work in 30 Rock. Watch it then tell me Ricky Gervais should have won.

I dare you.

Ricky Gervais is a lucky, wave-riding shit boy. Those clips had more laughs than Gervias' performance in both series of Extras. (Which is clearly your point but I'll repeat it anyway...)

Actually, no, I can't comment. It's no use presenting a gag reel of a series I haven't seen when there's no context with which to build up a full appreciation of the characters and situations.

Matt C is wrong, of course.

Actually, I reckon that's the best way of doing it, because then you can focus on the performance, not the scripts - and 30 Rock's are much funnier than Extras' so might have swayed everything more in Baldwin's favour.

I probably am wrong but Extras was still horrid.
